The Housing Fellowship, an award winning Community Housing Development Organization, is the only private non-profit providing permanent affordable rental housing in Johnson County.
We believe that if folks can afford their rent, utilities and insurance and more importantly, they like where they live, they stay. Permanent, safe, decent housing contributes to the stability of families, neighborhoods, the economy and the community. Our rental homes are scattered throughout Iowa City, Coralville and North Liberty. We own single family homes, duplexes, townhomes and some condominiums; providing a wide choice of residences for our home renters. The Housing Fellowship also administers a revolving loan fund that provides any qualified Johnson County household funds to pay the security deposit on a rental home in Johnson County. We have assisted area communities to provide first time home buyers an affordable house. The Board of Trustees is a dedicated group of volunteers that understands the need for affordable housing and the importance of developing affordable housing in an equitable and responsible manner. Long term staff members ensure that our homes are nice, well managed and well maintained. Funding to purchase homes comes from several different public and private sources. Over the years, The Housing Fellowship has enjoyed many valuable local, state and national partnerships, such as the ones listed below. Housing Trust Fund of Johnson County: www.htfjc.org |
